How do they work with universal design today?

There is no specific scheme or training in universal design.
Each individual developer and designer is responsible for the universal design of their work, and for keeping up to date with new requirements and guidelines.

In the code, they use aria-label to run tests of universal design.
It is tested with the framework Playwright and tools in Figma, such as Color Contrast Checker and Color Blind. The team is aware that these tests do not capture all deficiencies and errors.
It seems that there is a lot of uncertainty related to universal design, and that there has not been a huge focus as of now.
It happens that someone gets the job of fixing up the feedback that comes in via Hotjar, but it doesn't seem like there is often a universal design.
Not actively working to reach AAA requirements, but AA is important.
Some of the tools they use to meet WCAG requirements: Playwright and figma plugins

How many people work with universal design today?

It is everyone's responsibility to keep up-to-date on universal design and ensure that this is incorporated into the work they do. This applies to both designers and developers. There is a person who is considered the expert in ux design and universal design - Siri Bergmann Stølen.
